Project Gutenberg Free eBooks

Project Gutenberg website is where you can find high quality ebooks to download or read online. 45,000 free ebooks (epub or kindle) are available.

The website is free, but donations are accepted to fund the purchase and the process to digitize other books.

If you are not able to donate funds, you can assist in other ways: digitizing books, recording audio books, reporting errors are the listed other ways you can help.

Please note (from their website):

"Our ebooks are free in the United States because their copyright has expired. They may not be free of copyright in other countries. Readers outside of the United States must check the copyright laws of their countries before downloading or redistributing our ebooks. We also have a number of copyrighted titles, for which the copyright holder has given permission for unlimited non-commercial worldwide use.
The Project Gutenberg website is for human users only. Any real or perceived use of automated tools to access our site will result in a block of your IP address."
